For the second year in a row, I met up with two friends at the halfway point between our three cities: Birmingham! I hate driving alone, but I loaded up on podcasts, made a few phone calls, and the drive was over before I knew it.
We got right down to business: lunch, pedicures, shopping, a matinee, happy hour, and chatting the whole time (well, except for the movie). We even recreated last year’s trip by repeating the same activities and eating dinner at the same place – hibachi, my favorite!
We had so much fun that I hardly took any pictures, which is just the way it should be!
I hope we can keep up this tradition for many more years – even a short overnight visit was refreshing. I’m so thankful for friends who make the time to stay in touch – it’s so easy to get bogged down with the daily routine, and of course social media is great to stay in touch with long-distance friends, but nothing beats some face-to-face girl time!
At least I doubled the amount of pictures taken since last year, when I took exactly one!
