Introducing: Lady Katie Stitchery!

My little blog break was just what I needed to focus on something I’ve wanted to do for a long time: launch a side business!

Introducing… (drum roll, please)… Lady Katie Stitchery!

Whimsical needle minders for hand crafting enthusiasts!

What’s a needle minder, you might ask?

A needle minder is an essential tool for all hand crafters, whether you embroider or cross stitch or hand quilt, to keep your needle safely in place – and not lost forever between the couch cushions! I feature beautiful fabrics on each needle minder, and two strong magnets secure the minder to your project without damaging the fabric.

Ever since learning to make my own needle minders, I’ve been brainstorming ways to share them with others. My friends and family listened to me think out loud for many (many, many) hours about shop names, packaging details, logo ideas, and exactly what kind of magnet combo was the best… until finally, I decided that “done” is better than “perfect” and I officially launched my shop last week. I’m excited to continue tweaking and evolving my needle minders (and more accessories and patterns soon, hopefully!) but I am super pleased and proud of what I have to offer.

I promise I won’t bombard you with sales pitches every day, but I do have a small favor to ask of you. Even if you don’t need to buy a needle minder right now, please take a moment to visit my business pages and have a look around! Every like, share, and favorited item helps me get into the elusive algorithm, which will bring my brand new baby shop in front of more eyes!

Thanks for being such awesome imaginary internet friends. The support and well wishes coming from my tiny little corner of the internet as I start this new venture has meant so much to me.

AND a big shoutout to two IRL friends who have helped me so, so much:

Sommer for countless mile-long texting convos about every itsy bitsy detail and the accountability to help me inch forward

and

Emily for designing a logo that embodies everything I want this shop to be… a tall order! (More on that coming soon!)

I’ll be back in the swing of things soon, although I might not be posting five days a week anymore. During my two-week hiatus, I have to admit it was freeing to just live life instead of documenting and distilling it into bite-sized blog posts. As always, I’m working on balance, but I love the Amateur Librarian too much to give it up!
