Happy Friday! Once again, High Five for Friday features five highlights of the week, my way of focusing on the little things that remind me to stay grateful.
1 – Grand Weekend. It’s always grand to see my parents again, even if a long weekend is much too short. We are all sad to see them go, especially Amelia!
2 – Independence Day. This year we celebrated the traditional American pastimes of eating, book browsing, and making some extra $ at McKay’s Used Books. The neighborhood fireworks that we could see from our backyard (that didn’t wake the baby!) were icing on the patriotic cake.
3 – Sew Day. I haven’t made much time to sew lately, so a dedicated sewing day with a quilty friend was exactly what I needed to log some machine time.
4 – Home Improvement. We save all our house projects for my parents’ visits, and we crossed a lot of items off the list, including some things we didn’t even know we needed to do (like applying WD-40 to the garage doors and interior doors). And there was one more surprise the morning before they left: donuts for breakfast and a big planter for herbs! (The fluttering butterfly is solar! Amelia loves it.)
5 – Prunes. The 8-month sleep regression is hitting us hard, coupled with teething, new skills to practice, AND some constipation to boot. At least one thing works to clear out the digestion system: prunes! And Amelia loves them, thank goodness.
Love your positive vibe!
