WIP Wednesday

Another weekly update on my current Works in Progress 🙂

Citrus Biscornu Cross Stitch

Making steady progress, but I wasn’t able to finish up the top side before the first clue of the Sweet as Pie Club was released, so I’m setting this one aside for now. Can’t wait to get back to this one in a couple weeks!

Sweet as Pie Cross Stitch

It’s finally here and it’s adorable! The first pie featured is Chocolate Cream, including a printable recipe. I was a little burned out on year-long projects, but the Frosted Pumpkins totally got me at just the right time by starting one in May, just days before my birthday! This club is so cute, I couldn’t resist.

I’m just a few stitches in but I already love it. I’m trying out my big Q-Snap and so far, so good.

Round Robin Quilt

The Latifah Safiir workshops took the place of our regular guild meeting this month, so I realized that I better get cracking on the next round of the Round Robin group quilt to pass it on at the lecture. I got everything out, pulled some fabrics, came up with an idea, and started working on it… but the day of the lecture, I wasn’t entirely happy with it so I decided to give it some time before really starting on something I might have to unpick later. Apparently I wasn’t the only one, because three of the other group members also weren’t ready (Marcia and Jayne were on the ball though!). We decided to give ourselves until the June meeting, which was a huge relief!

So here’s where I’m at currently. I love the inspiration piece of artwork that Emily chose, and the contributions from Jayne and Marcia look wonderful!

I liked the idea of adding some straight lines to balance all the curves, and two of the dresses have a pattern that reminded me of a rail fence quilt pattern, so I went with that idea. Now that I have another month, though, I feel like I should add something more creative. We shall see!

My little helper! (Maaaaaybe part of the reason I didn’t get done in time.)

The latest version, although probably not the final.

And that’s about it!

  1. Love the quilt pattern & colors. Can’t wait to see the cross stitch. Looks like there will be another fabric artist in the family!
