Tali went out Saturday night and didn’t show up for breakfast on Sunday. She usually sticks close to the house (and never misses a meal!), but of course we don’t know how far she roams when we’re not around.
We did everything we could think to do – brought pictures and reported her missing at the local shelter, posted messages on our neighborhood and local petfinder social media groups, talked to our neighbors, trolled the neighborhood calling, etc. – all day long. We ended up at one guy’s house multiple times because she seemed to be hanging out on his porch… except when we showed up, she was nowhere to be found. All we could hope is that she would find her way home eventually.
Tali has run away before (although under very different circumstances – she was in a new town and new house) and she was lost for 12 days before Animal Control caught her and brought her to the local shelter.
Yesterday afternoon I wrote this post to spread the word… but right around 11 PM when we were ready to give up for the night, guess who popped through the cat door?
I’ve never been so happy to be rewriting a blog post before bedtime! Tali didn’t even seem fazed by the whole ordeal, although she was definitely hungrier than usual. Second dinner for everyone!
Glad to have you home again, Tali!!
I’m so glad! I was worried about her!
