Meow Monday: Almost There…

Posting might be a bit light for the next couple weeks… so much is happening!  (Closing on the loan, traveling for Christmas, moving to the new house, New Year’s Eve/Day, unpacking, catching up at work in between days off, etc. etc.!) I’ve certainly had a few overwhelmed moments, but it’s all coming together so I’m trying to enjoy the process 🙂

As for the cats, they’re doing OK, but as usual their personalities and coping skills are wildly different. Tali seems to be handling the changes just fine… she’s enjoying finding new hiding/napping spots and the naughtiest thing she’s done is scratch a couple boxes (they do look an awful lot like her favorite cardboard scratchers, so no surprise there.)

 

 

Cora, on the other hand, has been a bit more stressed out. She soaked a few packing materials, and it was… not pretty. (TMI: there was blood.) Hubby took her to the vet and they still have to rule out a kidney infection, but they’re pretty sure it’s just her reaction to the stress of moving. I can’t help but sympathize with her  since she has no idea why we’re boxing everything up or what’s going to happen next (there was no lasting damage… if she had soaked a packed box iI might not have been so forgiving…) So now we’ve been giving her lots of extra love and attention, plus medicated treats and spraying her blankets with pheromones… whatever works to get us through the next couple weeks!
